BIOTECH STOCKS POST MIXED PERFORMANCE

Biotechnology stocks turned in a mixed performance Thursday,compared with previous trading sessions. Amgen closed at$65.50 a share, up $2.75 for the day. Genzyme, which rose$2.13 a share Wednesday, added $1.12 to close Thursday at$27.75. Genetics Institute fell $1 to $38 a share.
