APPOINTMENTS AND ADVANCEMENTS

PRESIDENT NAMED FOR TSI'S RESEARCH INSTITUTETransgenic Sciences Inc. of Worcester, Mass., said it appointedSteven Niemi president of TSI's Mason Research Institute.

Niemi, who joined Mason Research in 1985 as director ofveterinary services, was previously general manager of theresearch institute, which is the company's pharmaceutical pre-clinical testing subsidiary.
