• Joseph Marotta has been named VP of sales and marketing for EaglePicher Medical Power (Vancouver, British Columbia). Most recently, Marotta spent six years as VP of worldwide sales and marketing at National Manufacturing. EaglePicher makes batteries and implantable medical devices.
• Robert Glines has been named director of business development at Hiemstra Product Development (San Francisco), a medical product design and development company. Glines co-founded Microheart, a needle-based drug delivery company, and founded AngioSense.
• Tenet Healthcare (Dallas) reported that Peter Urbanowicz, general counsel and secretary, is leaving the company to pursue opportunities outside of Tenet. “In his four years with Tenet, Mr. Urbanowicz managed the company’s resolution of issues with the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other civil matters facing the company,” said Trevor Fetter, president/CEO. Tenet, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates acute-care hospitals and related ancillary healthcare businesses.
