Imaging Dynamics (IDC; Calgary, Alberta), a developer of digital radiography (DR), reported that HealthPartners Medical Group of Indiana and Michigan has purchased IDC's 1600 Plus X-Series DR system.

HealthPartners is a multi-specialty physician group with facilities in Michigan City, Chesterton, LaPorte and Westville, Indiana, and New Buffalo, Michigan. The IDC system will be installed in the group's new orthopedic facility in its Michigan City location.

IDC is collaborating with its regional partner, RPS Imaging (Michigan City, Indiana) on installation and ongoing service of the contract with HealthPartners Medical Group. According to RPS sales rep Kathy White, Our close working relationship with IDC, consistent success with IDC products, and our combined commitment to service excellence were important factors in winning this account.

Since its inception in 1977, RPS has grown to be the second-largest independent radiology sales and service provider in the Midwest and 12th-largest in the country.

In other grants/contracts news

• Cook Medical (Bloomington, Indiana) said it will have a significantly expanded vendor relationship with HealthTrust Purchasing Group (Brentwood, Tennessee). Cook is now contracted to supply medical devices in the areas of peripheral diagnostics, peripheral intervention, vena cava filters and peripheral stents to HealthTrust's member facilities.

• Impulse Monitoring (IMI; Columbia, Maryland) said it has signed a two-year exclusive agreement with Emory-Adventist Hospital (Smyrna, Georgia) to provide Emory-Adventist with comprehensive intraoperative neuromonitoring services including IMI-qualified neurophysiologists and real-time professional oversight by an experienced physician. IONM assesses neurological function involving the brain, spinal cord and related nerve structures during surgery. Use of IONM facilitates the surgical process and can reduce surgical risk by providing alerts to surgeons of potential harm to spinal cord or neural structure.
