The three founders of newly launched Volastra Therapeutics Inc. had plenty in common when they decided to create the company. Their offices happened to be a half block apart on 69th Street in midtown Manhattan. Their interests in oncology were similar but each approached the disease from different angles.
BEIJING – Zhongshan-based Akeso Inc., which focuses on bispecific antibodies, is again seeking pre-revenue listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX), after its first IPO attempt failed to go through in December. The move comes at a time when analysts believe the coronavirus outbreak is weighing on the city’s IPO market.
PARIS – Sensome SAS, of Palaiseau, France, has closed a second funding round, of $9 million, with its original French investors (Kurma Partners SA, Invest Partners SA, BNP Paribas Développement SA and the Paris-Saclay Seed Fund), now joined by the Japanese-based Asahi Intecc Co. Ltd.
DUBLIN – Azafaros BV raised €25 million (US$27.5 million) to develop orally available azasugar drugs with potential application to multiple lysosomal storage diseases.
