The Six Million Dollar Man may have been outfitted with bionic body parts more than three decades ago in the futuristic TV series, but in reality devices that mimic true human function are just now starting to be commercialized. Earlier this year Medical Device Daily reported the launch of the first bionic finger system and a newly developed foot that "knows" where it is in space enabling the wearer to walk with greater ease. Now an Arizona State University (Tempe) researcher has developed a prosthetic device that literally puts the spring back into an amputee's step. (Medical Device Daily)
