Nearly half of all cancer patients undergo radiation therapy, but the response to the treatment can very greatly, most likely due to differences in personal genomes. Amazingly, scientists are getting close to being able to help identify which patients will respond best to radiation and even help personalize such treatments for the individual cancer patient.
