FDA approves Abiomed's Impella pumps for emergency patients suffering cardiogenic shock

Abiomed Inc.'s Impella pumps can now be used to treat cardiogenic shock, a condition that can occur after a severe heart attack or cardiac surgery. The latest FDA approval covers the Impella 2.5, Impella CP, Impella 5.0 and Impella LD pumps for the cardiogenic shock indication.
