For once, the EMA appears to have pipped the U.S. FDA to the post, with Pfizer Inc.’s hemophilia A and B therapy Hympavzi (marstacimab) recommended for approval in Europe on Sept. 20, while the U.S. PDUFA date is set for the fourth quarter of the year.
Pharma-biotech pairings continued apace in the antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) space, with 2023 capped by Legochem Biosciences Inc. signing a $1.7 billion licensure deal with Johnson & Johnson arm Janssen Biotech Inc. for the former’s Trop2-directed compound, the second-biggest Korean technology transfer agreement.
Buying out Immunogen Inc. in a whopper cash deal valued at about $10.1 billion, Abbvie Inc. has major plans for an expanded label on the antibody-drug conjugate Elahere (mirvetuximab soravtansine-gynx), already approved for treating platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.

The victory led shares of the Waltham, Mass.-based firm to close May 3 at $12.26, a rise of $7.06, or 135%.
The accelerated approval by the U.S. FDA of Immunogen Inc.’s landmark antibody-drug conjugate Elahere (mirvetuximab soravtansine-gynx) injected further oomph into the NaPi2b space, where a handful of developers are due to yield important data shortly.
