HONG KONG – New York and San Diego-based Zentalis Pharmaceuticals Inc. has gained $20 million in a series A financing round to support a Chinese joint venture called Zentera Therapeutics.
BEIJING – Androgen receptor (AR)-related disease specialist Kintor Pharmaceutical Ltd., of Suzhou, China, raised $240 million on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) on May 22 by issuing 92.3 million shares at HK$20.15 apiece. The IPO was oversubscribed by 551 times, showing the city’s biotech fever.
Transmedics Group Inc. reported a proposed public offering of $60 million of its shares of common stock (NASDAQ:TMDX). The Andover, Mass.-based company expects to grant underwriters a 30-day purchase option for additional shares of its common stock up to 15% of the number of shares sold in the offering. J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley are jointly managing the proposed offering with Canaccord Genuity acting as lead manager.
LONDON – Exscientia Ltd. has closed a $60 million series C funding, attracting Novo Holdings as new investor to lead the round, which will enable the artificial intelligence (AI) specialist to progress its first in-house program to the clinic before the end of 2020.
HONG KONG – South Korean conglomerate SK Group is preparing to list its subsidiary, SK Biopharmaceuticals Co. Ltd., on the Stock Market Division of the Korea Exchange.
DUBLIN – Monte Rosa Therapeutics Inc. emerged from stealth mode with $32.5 million in funding commitments from series A investors Versant Ventures and New Enterprise Associates to enable it to bring new science into the increasingly crowded field of targeted protein degradation.
