Ibex has developed the Galen platform which offers AI solutions that allow pathologists to accurately and rapidly detect and diagnose cancer. The company also reported the launch of Galen Breast HER2, a new software which will play a critical role in helping oncologists identify effective therapies for breast cancer patients.

LONDON – Ibex Medical Analytics Ltd. has claimed a further advance in applying artificial intelligence (AI) to the interpretation of digitized pathology slides, reporting that the first commercial system in the world using AI to detect gastric cancers has gone live. The Galen Gastric system has been deployed at the pathology lab of Maccabi Healthcare Services, one of Israel’s leading HMOs, where it is now operational alongside Ibex’s breast and prostate cancer AI systems.
LONDON – Ibex Medical Analytics Ltd. has secured a second CE marking for its Galen artificial intelligence decision support system for automated interpretation of tumor biopsies, adding breast cancer to the approval in prostate cancer secured just over a year ago. The CE mark follows results from a blinded, multicenter clinical study at Institut Curie in France and Maccabi Healthcare Services in Israel. Ibex says that in the trial Galen breast demonstrated very high accuracy in detecting various types of breast cancer.

Galen Prostate, trained on more than 60,000 samples from multiple institutions, is intended to give a second opinion on digitized slides, following initial assessment by a pathologist.
