Chicago-based Hillrom said Friday that it will acquire Breathe Technologies Inc. for $130 million in cash. The Irvine, Calif.-based company developed and manufactures the Life2000 ventilation system, a volume-controlled, wearable, noninvasive technology for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease and restrictive thoracic disorder, as well as for those who require post-lung transplant rehabilitation.
